Veterans Charity

PREVENT will be raising money to help wounded soldiers through a charity project called Believe in Heroes(TM). The company wants to honor servicemen and women who have been wounded in battle.

PREVENT will be raising money to help wounded soldiers through a charity project called Believe in Heroes(TM). The company wants to honor servicemen and women who have been wounded in battle.

PREVENT Life Safety Services, a healthcare and commercial life safety services company, announced today that they will be driving a fundraising initiative for a veteran's charity project called Believe in Heroes®. For every customer project they PREVENT completed during the months of October and November, 2011, PREVENT will be making a donation to this charity. They will also be pursuing matching funds from other businesses in the area, and across the industry, in order to reach their fundraising goal of $10,000.

The Believe in Heroes project is a Wounded Warrior Project® initiative that, according to their website, "calls on Americans to recognize the enormous sacrifices made by our newest generation of veterans and to honor the service of these individuals over a two-month campaign leading up to Veterans Day. The Believe in Heroes campaign will provide the American public with an opportunity to show their support and appreciation of our veterans in their communities, and across the nation."

Dennis Cohan, President of PREVENT LSS said, "Through working at conferences, in hospital facilities and at industry events, we've come to realize that a great many of our customers have served in the military. To honor that service and, in our eyes, heroism, we are donating money to Believe in Heroes. We want to thank those who have served our country by giving back to this honorable organization."

All veterans face challenges as they return to society, and today's wounded warriors are meeting extraordinary obstacles. These include visible, physical injuries as well as invisible ones, like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). According to the Wounded Warriors website, "due to the advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, an unprecedented percentage of service members are surviving severe wounds or injuries." The Wounded Warriors Project helps these veterans adjust to their new lives and helps them to grow and succeed in new endeavors. PREVENT realizes the sacrifices these soldiers have made and is proud to support this organization through their fundraising efforts.
